Matlacha, Florida, is a charming and colorful small town located on Pine Island in Lee County, just west of Cape Coral. It's known for its quirky, artsy vibe, stunning natural beauty, and relaxed island atmosphere. Here’s why someone might want to visit Matlacha:
Matlacha’s blend of natural beauty, creativity, and laid-back charm makes it a unique destination for anyone looking to experience the essence of Old Florida with a contemporary, artistic twist.
Free Parking at entrance area. Beautiful trail that leads to scenic harbor views and shallow gulf waters. The trail is pretty easy and flat. But at the end it opens up in to the Harbour and theres is some beach line. The water is shallow all the way out about 100 yards. You see a ton of marine life. At same time be aware and respectful of marine life (ie: potential gators, shark, stingray).
This local favorite spot is something to respect. Please leave it cleaner than when you arrived. Pick up trash you may find. This is WILD florida and not much development. A nice break from the concrete jungle.
